The business advantages of individually developed applications for clients

 
As a result of the “acceleration” experienced in almost every sector of the modern business world, ready-made software products are gaining ground. The reason is simple: with an already introduced and implemented software (proven in practice), the client does not need to perform several tasks, which saves him time and money – moreover, he can acquire a wide range of know-how. This statement holds true for most Capsys products as well.
 
However, a ready-made product is not always feasible or profitable to buy and implement. Custom made software is expedient in the following cases:
 

The software products present on the market are not suitable:

  • They might not fully satisfy customer requirements or the extra functions can not be integrated.
  • With their considerable functionality, they offer far more than required - thus their purchase is unprofitable.
  • It is impossible (or not cost-effective) to integrate them to the core systems of the organization.
  • No standard ready-made product exists to serve the function in question (e.g..: design-weighted products).

Rather than the software product, another service is the dominant component:

    • These are typically those cases in which the software itself is a lesser part of the complete project (and the dominant parts are implementation, consulting, market survey, etc.).
 
The above sampling suffices to demonstrate that, however fast the range of ready-made products may grow, there are still the cases when the optimal solution is offered by an individually designed and developed software. Transaction kiosk/self-service terminal (SST) application

Kiosks (computer information stands) are modern customer service and information tools that are becoming more and more widespread. The advantage they offer is providing quick, independent information to clients; they provide reliable service of constant quality, even 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; they speed up administration; and they can be used as a new, effective means of providing customer service.

 Capsys Hermés is a kiosk application framework which allows easy editing of kiosk applications, designed based on unique needs.  The Java-coded framework system can be used on several platforms and is prepared to manage peripherals used at kiosks (printer, barcode reader virtual keyboard, card reader, etc.) The framework system includes both a remote control module and a statistical module.

In our view, the key to a successful kiosk solution is a well designed, simple and understandable application that is implemented based on perfect understanding of the business processes behind it.  With kiosks, in addition to the application, the choice of hardware and the right design also play an important role.  In addition to providing the application, we assist our clients in assembling the optimum complete kiosk solution.
Capsys Kentaur – Internet browser application
Capsys Kentaur in an enhanced security web browsing interface for public Internet browsing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Kentaur makes it possible to limit the functions accessible to the user (hard drive access, pop-up windows, right-click menus, etc.), can be managed remotely over the Internet, and provides options for content filtering and measuring Internet usage times.  These make it a perfect solution for serivce providers who want to provide Internet access to the public (e.g. internet cafés, public institutions, etc.) The Kentaur application can be run on both kiosks and PCs.

It is primarily service providers that use the system, such as local government offices or telecommunications companies.
 Capsys Methys – Client queue management system
Capsys Methys is a software based client queue management system application.
 In contrast with traditional hardware-based solutions, Methys makes it possible for the client traffic of several branches to be served from a single, central server and managed uniformly. This makes it possible to develop a central operations monitor, and to compile comprehensive business statistics and related productivity gauging. Another advantage of the system is that it is platform-independent, multilingual, and can be used by administrators through a web browser, so it is not necessary to install and maintain any client programs.
Methys offers clients convenience functions such as multilingual administration, making appointments on the internet or on the branch’s automatic number-issuer, administration of more than one case at a time, choice of administrator, and estimates wait time.
