AEGON Mortgage Credit Institute setup project

As part of the project preparing for our mortgage credit activities, AEGON’s management commissioned Capsys, experts in financial IT, to execute the subprojcet on mortgage credit systems.

AEGON Hungary General Insurance Corp. is a member of Holland AEGON group, one of the large insurance companies in the world, employing over 30000 people, serving over 40 million customers around the world. Its founding was preceded by the AEGON Group’s successful takeover of one of longest operating insurance companies, Hungary General Insurance Corp, established in 1949, in 1992. Ever since, it is one of the biggest players on the insurance market, while offering pension, investment and credit services. Offering wide spectrum of insurance policies, it is expected to retain the leading position in most segments of the market.

To achieve the strategic aims, the experts of Capsys co-operated with AEGON’s management in defining the main tasks the subproject was to perform:

  • The credit support systems and their market suppliers were to be
    • looked up and
    • undergo some comparative analysis
  • The financial suppliers found on the market were to be
    • looked up and
    • analysed
  • A summary study was to be drawn up on the findings
  • Based on the study results, presentations were to be held and prospective clients involved
  • The demonstrations were to be professionally analysed

The project involved the preparation of selecting the IT administration and promotion system(s) most likely to best serve AEGON’s mortgage credit activities. For that reason, Capsys’ people performed a market survey, looking up both the potential system suppliers and the competitors on the market. The now more, now less relevant information gained at the personal interviews formed the basis of a study in which a comparative table summarized the most important aspects helping clients to rank the potential suppliers. The most important of those aspects were the right business attitude, IT compatibility (with the AEGON standards), properly robust economic health, reliability, company size, references, likelihood of performance, deadlines and pricing.
The process continued with company introductions and system presentations organized by Capsys experts who monitored the IT and business features of the suppliers’ persentations.
A summary study was drawn up on the findings and went before AEGON’s management as a preparatory document for decisionmaking. Our expert counseling was an essential contribution to the successful foundation of AEGON Hungary Credit Corp.
