MKB Nyugdíjpénztár (Pension Fund) was founded in 1995. It operates both a mandatory pension fund and a voluntary pension fund. Both are run and managed by MKB Bank, one of the most established banks in the Hungarian market. MKB Bank manages both the funds’ accounts and assets. Currently, the funds have more than 140,000 members, with assets exceeding 130 billion HUF. Voluntary Pension Fund, with its membership of 113,000 holds a strong third place among the competitors and retains 12% of the market share.
